BLACKWAY

ARTIST / RAPPER / SONGWRITER

Ghanaian-American rapper Blackway is a different breed.
In private, introspective and thoughtful - whilst on the mic, a headrush of humor, swagger and intelligence.

Blackway grew up bouncing between Accra and New York City. A collaborator to the likes of Rotimi, Jnr Choi and Busta Rhymes - his technical ability across Hip Hop and Afrobeats is recognised both inside and outside the industry.

He first came to public attention when his song “What's Up Danger (Feat. Black Caviar)” dropped in 2019. The energy-filled track was the centrepiece of the award winning, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” movie. The soundtrack earned a Grammy nomination and subsequently, Blackway was invited out to Wyoming to write with Kanye.

Blackway’s style is artful, complex and assured - he has had music selected as the NFL’s song of the season, his single “It Feel Good To Be Me" received Beyoncé’s personal approval to soundtrack the #HallsofIvy campaign for Ivy Park x Adidas, and more recently, Blackway has featured on Madden ’23 and Fortnite soundtracks.

Few artists are able to match Blackway’s breadth and scope in style. As at ease on a melodic Afrobeats track as a cinematic hip hop epic, his dexterity and range is unparalleled, with a strong online following and 300+million streams to his name.

The Blackway endorsements continue to flow in, leading to a huge collaboration single with the one and only Shaquille O’Neal, ‘King Talk’ (dropping Spring 2023), and an Afrobeats record set to follow. An artist with untold potential, Blackway’s star is rising fast.
